In 2013, an idea came to fruition.
A good friend of mine (Sheldon L. Brummell), and I had a vision years ago while sitting on the couch in our off-campus apartment at Central Michigan University (CMU). We had one of many conversations surrounding our wishes to give back, and to help pave the way for students like ourselves who represented the small number of minorities in the business college at CMU. Hence, the Bryant-Brummell Business Award was born.
We felt it necessary to give back financially to our alma mater in efforts of:
- Rewarding a deserving student
- Contributing to the minority population at an institution of higher learning
- Paying forward some of what was given to us
